On Saturday, November 11th 2006, with students, faculty, parents, and other well-wishers in attendance, Lovejoy Middle School held a commemoration ceremony to officially retire Courtney's Basketball and Volleyball Jerseys, as well as her track relay baton.

Mr. Crooms addressed the crowd, and spoke briefly about the newly formed Foundation. Mrs. Crooms received hugs from several of Courtney's former teammates who were onhand for the emotional tribute.

Afterwards the Crooms' posed in front of the enduring tribute to their daughter, and for a life that touched so many.

On Saturday, February 3rd 2007, Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy (SACA) retired Courtney's basketball Jersey during a half-time ceremony.

Athletic Director, Mr. Dwight Howard Sr. introduced Mr. & Mrs. Crooms to those in attendance. Headmistress Geraldine Thompson spoke briefly about Courtney, as she facilitated the presentation to the Crooms'.

Afterwards Mr. & Mrs. Crooms stood with members of the Lady Warriors and coaching staff, and expressed their appreciation for this high honor on behalf of their daughter.
