Daphne Pierce-Smith

    Ms. Pierce-Smith is the general manager (GM) of the Atlanta Celtics - girls division. She has served in this position since its inception in 2006. The Atlanta Celtics - girls division is a subsidiary of the Atlanta Celtics, Inc. which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to teaching basketball skills, promoting of community service and the development of personal and social competencies like problem-solving skills, moral reasoning, decision-making skills, self-control, and academic skills. Daphne has been coaching basketball for over 15 years.

Ms. Pierce-Smith has held a myriadof leadership positions including: manager of clinical operations, research manager, charge agent, instructor/educator for school of medicines and universities, and healthcare institutions. Ms. Pierce-Smith has sat on several regulatory, academic, state, and national boards within her chosen career field, and brings that same level of competence, leadership and passion to the game of basketball.

Ms. Pierce-Smith holds a Master of Science (MSN) degree in nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) track. She is a certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC), and has completed a two-year certification program in health care management. Daphne is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in the field of nursing.
